the forest of too many choices

Jester Compass
Ah! Here we are. The Forest of Too Many Choices.

Forest
A visitor! How wonderful. Welcome, welcome. There are so many possibilities here.
Things you might have, things you might become, lives you might live. Do come in.

Compass
We’ve come to find a path.

Forest
Of course you have. And I have six extraordinary enticements for you.
Each comes with a price, naturally.

Compass
I already know which one they should choose.

Forest
You haven’t even heard what they want.

Compass
I have an excellent sense of direction.

Forest
That is an entirely different thing.

(The Forest turns its attention to you.)

Forest
Now then. Have a look around.
Consider what you long for. What you might be willing to give up to have it.
You may find the prices rather interesting.

Compass
And when something calls to you, we can follow it.

Forest
Certainly. Although there’s no hurry. There are so many things worth considering.

Six enticements lie before you. Explore them all. Choose one, if you wish.
